The Lore of Tir Nan Og offers a fresh take on the traditional paranormal fantasy genre. The story creates a wonderous world full of unusual characters and weaves religious and other historical events into a paranormal world origin story. The story is interesting and very well written. The language seems elevated and more sophisticated than you normally see in this genre. It was fun to travel with Mira on her adventures and have the backstories of the various characters revealed throughout. I hope we see more of Mira’s adventures as she grows into her powers.

I loved everything about the story line. The characters were purposeful and well thought out. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is, I did find that when the text shrunk and italicized it was distracting and pulled you out of the story a bit. But overall, this is one of the better Irish/Scottish mysticism books I have read. This particular genre is right up my alley, and I am really hoping that there are more books coming. As I read, I could tell this book was well researched and I loved that it was geared towards adults as well as young teens.
